Kayda's Faith in God Camp

 Kayda got to go to her first faith in God camp.   It was two days of lessons and activities.   Today I was able to go help (thank you grandma H for watching the boys).  The theme was "Oh the places you'll go" by dr. Seuss.

 She got a bullseye!

She was nervous the first day but came home beaming.  They were given little notepads to take notes and she wrote down everything they did.   She had a wonderful time!

Dillon's First Riding Lesson

Dillon got to ride iceman today!  He brushed him,  cleaned his hooves,  rode him,  then brushed him again.   Today the boys even got to feed iceman carrots!   

He, of course, absolutely loved it.   Problem is I love horses and now I want to ride too! They are such beautiful creatures and they have a bunch of really sweet horses that they own, board and train.  Carson and I got to wander in the pasture with the horses while Dillon was riding.

Friday,  after Carson's lesson the kids will be helping with some of the chores.  I want them to learn what a big responsibility horses are, not just how fun they can be.

Dillon's new glasses

Dillon got glasses today.  He needs them for reading,  he is very slightly farsighted.   The doctor wants him to reserve his glasses for when he's reading or doing other activities up close.   Dillon is SO excited!  He is allowed to wear them for the first day or two before they revert back to reading only.   He kept taking them out of the case, put them on for a while,  clean them with the special cloth, neatly fold up the cloth and then carefully put everything back away. it's adorable how much he likes them.  Hopefully they'll help him get his fluency back up again.  On another note,  he looks so handsome! !!

Kayda's First Riding lesson!

Today the kids start riding lessons.  We found a teenage girl nearby that competes and is willing to do lessons so each kid will have the chance on their own. This morning they all get to brush and hoof pick the horse.   Kayda got to help get him saddled up and then she got the chance to ride him.   His name is iceman and he is a competitive gaming horse.  He is very sweet and mostly well behaved.   Kayda struggled with asserting herself.   Towards the ends she was starting to get him to do what she wanted a little more consistently.   She was able to weave him through some cones,  and even trot a little.   She finished the morning with a giant grin pasted on her face.   Dillon and Carson are both super excited for their turns! 

Backyard campout!

 We have Daddy's vacation days all tied up for the rest of the year so if we want camping it's got to be quick and easy.   So before we embark on our first tent camping trip with the children we thought we'd try it out.

So far we haven't tried to get to sleep.  I'm just letting them pay okkn tablets for a while.   But Carson just decided he wanted to sleep and he is or cold next to me.   We'll see if we make it the whole night with their beds only a number of steps away.

Summer fun!

We have been making great use of the pool.  It has been a gorgeous,  hot spring and as the school year came to an end the kids played in it at least once a day! 

 Kayda got to spend the night at Grandma h's  so the boys got special swim time.   Anytime someone is helping him swim Carson calls it lessons.   He will say "i want you to come in and do lessons".

 The day school got out a few people from our town got together to have a mini water fight.   The Kids had a blast. Unfortunately most of the parents showed up unprepared so it didn't last as long as we had hoped.

 Turned out to be a good group of kids!

 More pool time of course.   Kayda and Dillon pay with Carson so sweetly.   They'll carry him around the pool,  let him swim out to them,  swim between then,  holds onto them while they go underwater etc.   When he's in there with them and no mommy in the pool they are absolutely the most gentle,  caring siblings anyone could ever want.
