Easter

We celebrated Easter a day early in preparation for our Mexico trip.  Everyone got snorkel gear, hopefully we'll be able to use it!  If not... Someday we'll reschedule Hawaii.

We followed our relatively new tradition and stuffed plastic eggs to hunt.  Each kiddo ended up with about 30 they needed to find.  This year they were tough and it took them much longer to find them all.

Easter in the new house!

First Easter in the new house!  We followed our "new" tradition of stuffing a ridiculous number of plastic eggs with candy.

Notice the blanket in the background?  That is one of the weird cubbies for TV's, in an extra weird spot.  Carson has claimed it as a fort and climbs in there to play on his phone

Of course, prior to Easter we also had to dye eggs.

The kids enjoy writing things with the wax crayons before they dye them.

Grandma and Papa H came down to visit.  Dillon was excited to introduce them to Buddy.

Easter!

Easter seemed to come extra fast this year. We followed tradition and boiled and colored eggs.  We made way more than we would eat, simply because the kids like to dye them.

This Easter the kiddos got boogie boards for this summer's beach trip. They were super excited right off, since they couldn't use them yet.  They stuffed plastic eggs with candy and then hunt for those.  They can find WAY more that way.  This year there were some pretty tough ones.  There were multiple times they had to ask for hints.  My favorite was one on the fence behind the utility trailer that Carson walked by multiple times.

Later we went up to Grandma and Papa H's house for dinner with the extended family.

Easter and the Mashel Falls Hike

We did things a little different for Easter this year.  There was, of course, some good egg coloring to be had.  The kids seem to get more particular with it every year despite the fact that it's always the same dye kit.

The morning of Easter we waited for baskets and egg hunting until Grandma and Papa G were able to come down.  Since they're getting ready to sell their house here it was a great chance to spend one more holiday with them.

Let the hunting begin!  The adults were all getting a kick out of watching the kids find their eggs.  Once again, each kid had to find THEIR eggs.  They each have their first initial on them.  There were several the kids kept walking right past.  One was on the car door handle, about as close to eye level as you could get!

We enjoyed our egg hunting festivities and had breakfast with Grandma and Papa before they headed back home.  After they left, we got ready to go hiking!

We headed back to Mashel falls.  Kellina, Kayda and I had done part of the hike before so we decided to do the whole family this time! The first mile or so is on a wide gravel path so we rode our bikes!  Then we took off into the mountains.

We visited the lower falls first.  There were actually trails that could take you to the base but they were very slick.  When Daddy slipped trying to get to where he could help the boys down I decided it was time to move on to the next section.

Then we skipped up and went to upper falls.  We were able to find a trail down to eat lunch next to the river.

Finally, we went to middle falls.  This is the only place we visited when we came with Auntie Kina.

The kids did great!  Even with some gooey mud and some slippery parts!
