Since Kayda was off on an adventure, we arranged with some friends to go on a short camping trip. The boys have played soccer together and they are about the same age.
Carson and Ty both had the same shirt, so Carson went and got his out of the dirty pile so they could match!
They found some crawdads!
Can't see it well, but they were catching fish by creating little side pools along the river.
The river was just slow enough to feel safe letting them play but fast enough to still float. The day camp was a little upstream from camp so they would float between the two. Sometimes they'd even walk but up the river since it was mostly shallow.
Fishing!
The boys actually started catching these tiny fish. They would use plastic cups. Their family left a night early so we all went down to try. Carson caught seven and I managed to catch three! Considering Carson tends to get bored easily, he demonstrated an incredible level of patience catching the fish. Dillon got frustrated and started catching water bugs.
We decided to help Carson "tube" the river. It didn't work the way we'd hoped but he had fun for a little while at least. It was a fun trip with Lori, Jason, Ty and Carter!
