Easter Prep!

Today was Easter prep day, it ended up being a little more extensive than usual because the Easter Bunny did us the favor of checking the weather!  We started with our typical egg coloring which Kayda and Dillon have been BEGGING to do since Monday.  Dillon was just like last year, he wanted ot put every egg in every color.

Daddy taught Kayda and Dillon how to do eggs with TWO colors.  They each took a shot at it, though Kayda was more patient so hers turned out a little more consistently.

Blowing on the eggs to get them to dry some before flipping them over to dye the other half.

While we were waiting for the eggs to dry so we could do stickers we discovered that the Easter Bunny had been kind enough to drop off the kiddos clothes early.  The Easter Bunny sure does know our kids!  Kayda got a new pretty dress (she LOVES dresses) and Dillon got a couple of cool shirts (he HATES dress up clothes).  Today is a BEAUTIFUL day, tomorrow is supposed to be raining so we headed outside to take some pictures.
The kids were so great about taking the pictures I LOVE these pictures of them together.

 ...Then is was play time!

She was explaining something to Daddy, check out that face!

 Red light-Green light with Daddy!

We played a few other games, including sardines, the kids thought that was great!  Then back inside to put stickers on the eggs!

Swimming with Daddy!

Kayda found a swimsuit I bought her last year so it was easier to use the potty.  She wouldn't wear it because she didn't like having her tummy exposed.  When she found it she decided that she HAD to wear it to go swimming.  So despite the fact that she just finished a round of the flu, and Mommy couldn't go swimming because she needs a swimsuit, they went swimming.  Kayda loved kicking around with a noodle or the pink mat.  Dillon's favorite part was jumping.  Unfortunately the camera wasn't getting clear shots of the kiddos mid-jump, they're a little blurry but you get the idea.  Daddy was a busy guy in the water with two little ones who can't swim too far on their own.  Kayda kept trying to swim off and Dillon just wanted to stay at the edge and keep jumping.  Mommy sat on the side taking pictures and having tons of mini-heart attacks (Daddy was much more lenient about proximity than Mommy would have been).
Kayda swimming, she started using breast stroke type arms though she's NEVER used them before.  We were very surprised.
Kayda was "paddling" with the noodle.
Blurry but you can see his smile!
Dillon swimming.  We have to remind him to keep his head down though.
 Kayda decided to pose mid-jump!

A little bit of sunshine!

There wasn't much of it but we did get some sunshine today!  The kids had enough time to go out and play with some bubbles.  They started out playing with their big bubble wands but I have to hold the tubes so I couldn't get pictures.  We switched over to the bubble machine and the kids were having a fantastic time chasing the bubbles.  Next thing you know they're both running around with their bats trying to pop the bubbles that way!  They were both in their jamas because we're trying to potty train Dillon with little to no success thus far so I figure why dirty more clothes than we have to?

Calling it official

Well, over the last few weeks I've felt a few little flutters and movements that I thought could be baby.  Unfortunately I wasn't sure.  Today baby decided to give me some good strong kicks over the course of the day so I am official calling it!  I'm finally feeling baby boy!

It's a BOY!

Well today was our 20 weeks doctor appointment.  Daddy met me at the doctor for our "anatomy" ultrasound.  We found out that the baby is a BOY!  Once again the baby posed quite nicely for us!  We also found out that I do not have placenta previa (I had this with Dillon and ended up needing a c-section due to it) which means I shouldn't have to have another c-section!  Hurray!

After the doctor appointment we headed to Grandma Peggy's to tell the kids.  The agreement was blue balloons if it was a boy, green balloons if it was a girl (Kayda insisted upon this).

Kayda wasn't too excited at first, she had been hoping for a little girl but within a few minutes she was ready to be a big sister for two little brothers.  Dillon was very excited right away because he wanted a little brother!
Here is a picture of baby's profile.  It is a picture of the ultrasound picture so it's a little blurrier and such but there he is!

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

Today was the first of many trips to the zoo!  We woke up, it was sunny outside so we decided to bundle up and go.  It actually turned out to be fairly warm and we even spent some time coat-less.  The kids had a great time!  Dillon wasn't too interested in going at first but by the time it was time to go it was love.  He kept saying "I want to go back to the zoo".

We've never seen this area before.  You could touch the different animals, Dillon wasn't willing to put his fingers in the water but once Kayda got started she was willing to touch almost any of them!

Once we got to the polar bears Kayda kept saying "Polar bears, check" and "Red wolves, check".  She was having a great time!  Dillon thought the otters were cool, he kept wanting them to go underwater, and that developed into wanting to go in the water WITH them.

This was the first time we've gone that the kids have really wanted to play in the play area.  So at the end they spent about 15 minutes playing on everything.
