Dillon's THIRD Birthday!

Our sweet little boy turned three today... He seemed to enjoy it, he got a happy meal for lunch (when we go we normally don't get those) so he was pretty excited.  Later that afternoon both sets of grandparents came over for cupcakes (thanks for making those Grandma G) and presents.  Auntie Kina was even able to make it a little later.  He was VERY excited to blow out his candles and he loved opening his presents!  He thought it was just fantastic that he got to be the center of attention!

Dancing for the new car parking garage!
I think we're stepping into "I want to be a fireman when I grow up" territory!  Notice his lips, he was making the "water spraying" sound.
We were going to have cousins over for some play time but they're all sick so we'll reschedule that for another time.  I don't think he noticed so it's okay.

Fire Station "Field Trip"

Kayda's preschool class had a "field trip" to the fire station today.  Since parents bring the kids and are supposed to stay I was able to bring Dillon as well.  Dillon made a friend immediately, I thought it was funny that he chose a little boy named Dylan to befriend.  They played around most of the time together.  Of course it made it more difficult to get him to listen when he was supposed to but we managed.  I got to meet Kayda's friend Ellie that she has been telling me about also.

Here they are getting ready to watch the fire safety video.
Waiting to see the fire truck.
They waited SO well in line to go in the fire truck.  They were both dancing around and jumping up and down with excitement to go in.

They got to walk all the way through the fire truck!

One of the firemen put on the equipment so the kids could see it.  He talked to them with the speaker on the mask and everything!
Here's Kayda's whole class on the fire truck.  Dillon was pretty upset he didn't get to be in this picture.
Snack time!  Dillon didn't get to sit at the table because they barely managed to get their class around it.
Each of the kids got a fire hat, a badge sticker and a 911 book.  Kayda and Dillon had a great time showing them off later.

Christmas!

Christmas Eve Auntie Kina came over to do our little gift exchange, the kiddos adore her and loved playing with her with their new toys!  Later we went to Grandma and Papa H's for dinner just like normal.

This Christmas we got to announce to everyone that we're expecting, which made it extra fun!  It was actually a slightly less busy Christmas than normal.  We started out our day at home with Grandma and Papa G and Uncle Justin coming over for when Kayda and Dillon got up and gifts.  Here's the kiddos with what Santa brought them.  We ran into a little bit of a problem.  The kids were so excited about the train it was interesting getting them to open anything else... never heard of that happening before!
Then we actually had some downtime before going to Baba's for breakfast then off to Grandma and Papa H's for gifts.  We didn't end up having an actual Christmas day dinner this year, well we had dinner but it wasn't anything fancy.  Grandma and Papa G and Uncle Justin took off right after presents to head to Pullman because Aunt Kirsten and her family are moving.  We usually have dinner with them so we'll look forward to next year.

Sorry there aren't more pictures, we have video but I was just not feeling up to moving around a lot to take them.  Sad as that sounds, but most of you know pregnancy typically doesn't treat me well, though we get WONDERFUL children out of it so I'm not going to complain...too much!

Baby #3!

We've got baby #3 on the way!  Due on August 6th, 2011.  This will be the 5th grandbaby on Mommy's side, the 11th on Daddy's side.  Kayda and Dillon got to go to the ultrasound with us and see the baby (though you couldn't really tell it was a baby yet) and are both VERY excited.  Kayda wants a baby sister and Dillon wants a baby brother.  We'll find out in March!

Christmas Prep

Well, we took care of Santa pictures before Thanksgiving and we finall got all of our outdoor lights up along with the neccessary indoor decorations (tree, village, and stockings).  Hardly any of the gifts are ready but the kids are so excited!  Kayda even remembers what the stockings are for! "Santa come and put candy in here!"  She also described how Santa comes down the chimney, Dillon is just soaking it all in!

Growth Charts

I finally got around to hanging up the growth charts for the kids. Kayda and Dillon were so excited to mark their heights and I went and added their heights from all their past doctors appointments. I can't believe how big they're getting!!!  Best part is, if we ever move I just take them off the wall and bring them with us!

Kayda's Fourth Birthday!

Wow.  Sweet Kayda is four years old.  I can't believe how quickly time has gone by.  We actually celebrated her birthday over two days, there was just too much stuff to do it in one!  This year was the big year.  The ear piercing year!  Kayda loves to choose my earrings in the morning and all of her female cousins already have their ears pierced so she KNOWS she wants earrings.  I talked to her and explained how it would feel and what would happen before and after.  She still wanted to go for it.  So yesterday morning Kayda, Auntie Kina and I went down to get her ears pierced!

Choosing her earrings.  (She chose the May birthstone because it was a dark green which is her favorite color.)

One, two, three...  You could see in her eyes when it happened.  You could tell it hurt a little but she didn't even flinch!  She sat there while they were cleaned again and she was so excited!  I think the way her ears heated up immediately afterward bothered her more than the actual piercing.
 SO pleased with the earrings!

Then later that evening we had all the cousins from Daddy's side over.  (9 kids all together) for a pajama/pizza party.  They watched "Toy Story 3" and played and wrestled.  Here's Auntie Kina with the kiddos before the craziness began.
Here they are!  Except Chase who was in the other room playing)

 All the cousins!

After everyone went home, Ella got to stay and spend the night!  Dillon wanted to sleep in with them too so we had to pull in the crib mattress so he had somewhere to sleep!  They had a great time, though they didn't actually fall asleep until almost 11.
In the morning we had cinnamon rolls because that was Kayda's request.  Then we went down the hill to watch "Tangled" it just started showing this week and we thought it would be fun.  We ended up watching the 3D one which Kayda really thought was cool.  We had both sets of Grandparents, Baba, Ella, Jarrett and Aileena with us.  We took up the majority of a row in the theater!  Afterwards we headed to Red Robin because it's Kayda's favorite restaurant.

 She loved being sung too!

Then it was back home for cupcakes and presents!

She gave everybody hugs after opening her gifts.  I got pictures but most of them you can't see faces!  Thank you everybody for her gifts she said this was "My best birthday EVER!" while enthusiastically jumping up and down!
