Sunday, while Daddy and the boys watched the Seahawks game, Kayda, Auntie Kina and I went on a short hike. It was only about 4 miles, 3 of which were on a boring, wide, flat, gravel path. Once we got up into the forest it got much better. Kayda had a great time climbing around on some of the logs that had fallen over the trail. We talked about a lot of the different plants we saw and decided that we should get a book about the plants in this area. There were a few berries we wanted to know if they were edible. We managed to find some licorice fern, I don't remember where it was but we found it in a scavenger hunt once. It's root is supposed to taste like licorice! It was a great little hike. We only went to the middle falls and we're definitely going to go back with the whole family so we can explore the other two.
